The Keeper of Night and Blood

Thousands of years ago, when darkness shrouded light, The Fates created a line of magical beings called The Keepers. The Keepers were tasked to safeguard and watch over all beings in every Universe to prevent that darkness from ever taking over the light again. And so they dedicated themselves and their family line to guard who was chosen.
From large factions of Fae, Witches, Dragons, and Humans to smaller factions like the Elves, Merfolk and Selkies, Goblins, and countless others. Keeper's were neither good nor evil, it was the only way for the darkness to have a balance with light. There was good and there was evil so with the Fate's creation of the Keeper's they remained unbiased and followed their missions above all else.
A prophecy woven by the fates themselves foretold of a great evil that would one day tip the balance of the universe and bring destruction, black nothingness, darkness.
Callista Palatos had known the day of her ascension into becoming a Keeper would inevitably come and she would have to fulfill her destiny. She had trained all of her life to take the role her family had etched into her very being since she could remember. As the eldest of her sisters she would proudly be the first to take on her first charge and continue in her ancestors footsteps. What she didn't know was that he would be more than what she bargained for.
Elijah Vanceris was born a Vampire to a Lord and Lady that were respected by the ton. In eighteenth century England that was more than most could ever dream of. Elijah needed more though, he longed to be rid of his monotonous existence that never seemed to change.
That was until the day a mysterious woman fell through the castle roof right into his bedroom...
