Zelaena's duty to her family was to always protect her younger sisters. The same stays when she and her youngest sister, Feyre, are forced to leave their home and live in the Spring Court with Faeries after they killed one of them. Zelaena never feels connected to Spring Court and when she meets the High Lord of the Night Court she finally realizes why.
