Seraphina is an ordinary girl who lives with her family in the kingdom of Elyven. As far as she knows, there are no such things as dragons, sorcerers, or magic at all. After her family disappeared mysteriously and she narrowly escapes death, she travels alone with no destination, except to get as far away as possible from the memories of her dead family and the pursuers following her. She eventually meets Aeson, who has been looking for her for years, saying that she is an important part of a prophesy that is about to happen. Aeson informs Seraphina of her true past, and who she is destined to be. She is told that she must find a special dragon to help her on her quest, so Seraphina and Aeson journey to the Land of the Dragons so she can choose one. It is up to Seraphina to find a way to restore the kingdom to its former beauty, and to stop the evil threatening to overtake it.
