What if, during the worst storm in living memory, Rhaella gives birth to a set of twins. A set of twins whose father, the king, was betrayed and murdered, their eldest brother, the heir, was killed in battle, and their mother, the queen, died giving birth to them. Already, even as newborns they have lost everything, except a brother, six years older than them. Now they have to run before the people who killed their family find them, because if they do, they will definitely kill them too. They have to grow up in exile, running from the people who slaughtered the remnants of their house, stole their home, and the lives they should have had.
One twin is taken across the narrow sea to another continent, along with their last living brother. Where they are constantly moved around, often only hours before the men who were sent to kill them. The other twin, somehow or other, finds herself in the northern part of the country she was born in under the care and protection of the honourable Eddard Stark.
One, constantly moving around and the other hidden away, but both, on the run from the same people. The people who hated and had killed the rest of their family.
One who is known and has assassins after her, and the other who is unknown.
One has their brother but is lonely and cannot keep any friends, due to constantly moving, the other has only the occasional letters from her siblings but has friends in her host's children.
Different circumstances, but they still look up at the same sky, same sun, moon and stars.
They are both still Targaryen Dragons of Fire and Blood.
