two people, asher and ophelia, within their home kingdom were lucky enough to be the royal guards to the king and queen's castle in eldermist kingdom, and they've been best friends since children. they're now both 20 and 22, and in the midst of an oncoming issue with everforge kingdom, but problems within their own kingdom arise throughout this clash.
asher, a 6'2, 20 year old man, seems like an ordinary person but actually had magic in his blood that consisted of fire and ice, making asher one of the few in the kingdom with magical powers like his, which led to his position in the castle as a royal guard, and he was quite proud of this role.
ophelia, a 5'6, 22 year old woman, is a mix of a shapeshifter and a fairy, which was quite common to be a fairy in the eldermist kingdom, but a shapeshifter with enhanced hearing was quite rare, and so she also ended up a royal guard, which was quite uncommon for women to be working for royalty, so she was grateful for this and didn't want to mess up this opportunity no matter what.

I changed England to a fictional island called Moneres Islands and adjusted the setting from historical to present day (without the COVID vibes). According to ancient legend on the Moneres Islands, "He who is fit to rule could pull the sword from the stone." Is a short cute Korean girl from America fit to rule when she accidentally and drunkenly freed the decrepit blade in the dead of night? The answer is a resounding, "Oh hell no!" Except the people of the islands, including the current king, take the outdated myth very seriously and are set on crowning me - Winter Copeland, a 26-year-old photographer from Wisconsin - the queen in thirty days. While I'm safe from wearing clothes inspired by the Easter Bunny, I need to take crash course on how to behave like royalty.
