Monsters. The family. They feasted on people, they only walked at night, and they showed no remorse, no compassion, no mercy. They looked out for their own. They didn't care for the humans, insignificant to them except for the blood that they produced. Only one out of the family was ever curious about the mortals, and she was perhaps the most dangerous.

She felt her body giving out on her, and a part of her could not wait to rest, to sleep eternally, never having to fear or worry again. She relished in her eyes closing, not having to see the face that killed her mother and then her. None of that mattered any more.
