Sakako Kumagai, otherwise known as the Dark Phoenix (edgy name, she calls it). Born with the uncanny ability to shift into a phoenix, rise from the ashes, immunity to fire, and basically every other phoenix ability, she doesn't recall any past events from her childhood- just the heartbreaking feeling of being left alone and the strange emotion of having made a promise of happiness. When she hears of the Hunter Exam, she is determined to check it out and try finding out things about her past and maybe, possibly find the life she's looking for. However, she feels some sort of tugging at her heartstrings... pulling her deeper and deeper into the feeling of being in love with an assassin.
