What if the library was the new Tinder?

For Elizabeth, words are at the center of her life. A journalist for a women's magazine and, above all, an avid reader, she regularly visits her local library. But one day, when she opens one of the borrowed books, she discovers small handwritten notes. After perusing this mysterious reader's reviews, Elizabeth can't help but respond, for this man seems to have the same literary tastes as she does, and his remarks open up some fascinating debates. Just as Elizabeth begins her epistolary relationship with this stranger, another man comes along to turn her hitherto quiet life upside down: his name is Daniel, and he works on criminal investigations. Torn between these two men, one of ink and the other of flesh, Elizabeth must soon face a very real threat: someone is after her life...

"Oh shit, sorry I must have the wrong number." "Don't freight it. And when you go to make the contact for that guy you were talking about -when you find the right number- don't forget to make a contact for me too." "Why would you need me to make you a contact when it sounds like you could get all the girls you could ever want with that voice of yours?" "Because aside of popular beleifs the only females I've been handling is Iron, Magnesium, and Lanthanum." Elizabeth Enzo: My father always warned me about strangers, yet he never warned them about me. When in reality.. I'm the boogy man that every man fears. But that's okay with me because I know where my morals lie and where I lie about my morals and I'll never be ashamed of it. But who would be ashamed of being a serial killer? Definitly not the men in my smutty novels, and all the girls can say amen to that! Victor Hahn: Maybe not all serial killers are hatful on the inside, maybe they just want justice for those who can't take it for themselves. Yet here I am, helping conduct one of the biggest manhunts for this serial killer named Red Velvet because my best friend was able to convince me it would be good to get my head out of chemical compounds for a bit, well that and that I believed it would only take a week for me to solve the case because numbers -quite frankly- don't lie. But there might've been a small intrferance, aka Mrs. Ilovethesmellofburntcoffeegrounds. Will the most infamous chemist fall for the serial killer he's trying to catch? Or the freckled face girl who loves the smell of burnt coffee grounds and is a chemist from the other side of the world? Good thing is, he doesn't have to choose... @copyrightreserved

~Her words were my poison. I used them to consume myself. Disturbingly honest. Painfully strained. Carefully penned down. Dangerously addictive.~ A journal that landed in the right hands and told a whole story with words, no lips could speak. Two people bound by the pages of a book that tore their souls apart. He found it lying around and wondered what could go wrong. He didn't recognise the handwriting but he knew he instantly fell in love with it. Then it began. The assault of words on his life. He couldn't believe a word she wrote but somehow he did. He knew more about her than anyone else but he knew so little about who she was... It was maddening. Gave him a world of his own. Made him believe in rainbows, unicorns, coffee, the basis of happiness, the meaning of every sunrise, the mystery of every deep ocean, she made him human. He knew he had to find her. He had to find out who she was. He had given him all the clues he needed but none of them were enough to prepare him for who she was. But sometimes... The journey is more important than the destination. Sometimes, the journey is the destination. A book full of stolen pages and a boy full of curiosity. This was how he let her shape his story. __________________ Description inside. Italics = Journal entry. 500 word chapters. The Coffee Bean by Stracy2
25 parts Complete
Emmy Lorraine is living her life exactly the way she wants to - owning and running her quaint coffee shop, The Coffee Bean, and enjoying her solitary, peaceful adult life - no strings attached, and certainly no unwanted communication with her pushy, controlling parents. But a recent fling with a man she barely knows has left her in a predicament that she never could have predicted. Pregnant and single, Emmy has to face the biggest hurdle of her life, and when Ben McAllister suddenly comes back into the picture, she really doesn't know how to reconcile her fierce independent nature with her constant, inconvenient attraction to him. Add to the complicated mess the ghost that haunts her coffee shop, and Emmy's life really takes a turn for the confusing. The ghost seems to be trying to communicate with her, but at her failure to grasp its meaning, the haunting becomes more intense, forcing her to reconsider the future of The Coffee Bean - her livelihood. As her relationship with Ben progresses into something she'd never expected, Emmy fights her own natural instincts to back away, to get away from the confusion and chaos inside her heart. But as much as she'd like to think she can handle everything on her own, it's Ben's arms that she really wants to fall into at the end of each day. And as they begin to work together to solve The Coffee Bean's problems, to prepare for a child that neither of them expected to have, they find themselves pushed closer and closer together than either of them had imagined. With the unexpected arrival of Emmy's parents, whom she hasn't spoken to in nearly ten years, comes further complications - questions and anxieties that could break Emmy and Ben apart for good. But the ghost at The Coffee Bean isn't finished with them yet, and as they uncover the meaning of her haunting and communication, they learn more about their own relationship. Emmy might just realize that her heart really can open to Ben more than she'd ever wanted to believe.
