The last thing I remember are bright lights coming towards me, A horn blaring, A loud BANG, followed by a crunching sound.
I wake up with a start, but immediately shut my eyes. Why the fuck is my room so bright? I blink a couple of times to adjust to the light. This isn't my room. where am I? I look around and I finally see my mom and dad sitting on chairs next to my bed, which is weird since I haven't seem them get along in like ten years. I reach over and grab my moms hand, and give it a squeeze. She pops up, looks startled for a minute, then realized that I grabbed her hand.
"Oh Harlen, you're awake. How do you feel?"
"Ok" I croaked out.
She hands me a glass of water. I took a sip, and gave the cup back.
"What happened? Where am I?"
"Oh sweetheart you're in the hospital."

I open my eyes and I'm blinded by a bright light. I squint and it takes a couple of minutes for my eyes to adjust to the light. I try to speak but there is something down my throat. I hear a voice say "Don't try to speak Collin you have a tube down your throat. We will notify your family that your awake". I look for the source of the voice but faces with a women dressed in a white lab coat and has this weird thing around her neck. She injects me with something and everything went black again I wake up again and the thing down my throat was gone. I try to speak but my voice was dry. I woke up in a hospital bed, the pain I was feeling was intense. All I remember was practicing gymnastics and then well everything went black. And now the only things I hear are the sound of my heart monitor and the slow dripping of the IV into my arm. The air in the room felt stale, the silence was so "loud" I felt like I could hear my own heart beat. I heard I light knock on the door to my room, the doctor walked in, kind of solemn looking. I got worried, I immediately asked him "Hi doctor, is there something wrong?" " With you? No, your vitals seems stable. But I thought that you should be aware of this now." "Be aware of what?" "It's about your parents." "What about them are they okay?" "No, not exactly. They were in a car accident a couple of days ago, and your father flew through the windshield and broke his leg. Your mother is in a coma and isn't waking up. They are both located at Helena Hospital." This is a story about a girl named Jessica White who is 17 yrs. old and has been a gymnast since she was four. While practicing one day she fell off a high beam and was knocked unconscious, while in the hospital she is informed her parents were in terrible car accident and her mother is now in a coma.
