Angel Foster doesn't like taking risks, but she's flat broke and has no choice but to move into a strange country house, in a strange town called Charming with no cell service, in the middle of nowhere. Her estranged Aunt Hilde, who died brutally in a string of violent animal attacks, left it to her, and with it comes with a hot if only slightly annoying maintenance man who lives in the back yard.
The catch is she has to take up her aunt's old job, which no one can quite explain, except for the beneficiary who is a weird hermit in the woods who explains there is more to Charming than meets the eye. The animal attacks weren't quite as animalistic as the public is led to believe, they were done by something more sinister. Something not of their world.
Then shady but hot 'agents' show up on her new doorstep and it seems that there is more to the entire world than what Angel thought there was.
When Jane Madarang's neighbor Natalie kills herself and leaves behind cryptic instructions, it's up to Jane and her classmates to unearth deadly secrets.
