Updated version out now! Slight change in plot and writing style and more detail! Pls read! Zhongli has been shut up in Liyue for a thousand years and he refuses to go anywhere outside of Liyue. But as old age is getting to his mothers, he needs to take charge of the throne. His mothers know he is incapable of ruling alone and they extend a hand in marriage to the other nations. Of course, the rumors circling this mysterious prince are strong and many nations reject it until it is taken up by Tsaritsa, current Queen of Snezhnaya. Her eldest, Childe, has specifically requested a man to marry. And many of the other nations have rejected too. So she takes it up and anxious Zhongli gets sent to Snezhnaya to marry Childe. But Zhongli is also holding a secret that can endanger the possibility of marriage as a whole. And what happens when a princess of a neighbouring kingdom plans to sabotage the whole wedding?

In his mind, he only cares for battles, wars, and blood. Perhaps the motivation is to protect his family, or, perhaps, the motive is revenge on the creature that lays in the abyss, waiting to strike at any moment. Or perhaps, he wishes to accomplish both and understand the contract set by him and Zhongli years ago despite not remembering the details. Meeting in the rain, the two placed an agreement upon themselves without an idea of how much destruction would take place. 'If either of us broke the rules set in the contract, we shall suffer the Wrath of the Rock.'

For Childe, the only thing more difficult than completing a mission in a nation where he's hated, is completing a mission in a nation where he's being threatened with imminent deportation. Out of alternatives and with failure not an option, the only way he can hope to remain in Liyue is by entering a relationship with one of its' residents. He can think of only one person eccentric enough to go along with such a suggestion.
