"Me?" I answer nervously. I held my breath as I looked into the dragons golden eyes. 

"I choose you."

I've been waiting for this day since I can remember. Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of one day having my own dragon. After my father's death I made it my goal to do this, to make him proud. Joining the riders squad means bonding a dragon and protecting my people. My home.

"I'm sorry," I apologized as I watched her break down even more. There was a pang in my chest as I stared at her. Fiore. I took a beautiful flower and crushed all of its petals. Not being able to bare the sight of her being so broken, I stood from the bed and walked to the door before hitting the lights. "You should get some sleep," I suggested as I turned my back to her and Aurora and left the room. I then went into the now empty living room and spread out on one of the long sofas.
