Joseph Desaulniers stepped out of the eerie fog that clung to the air in the manor's courtyard. He had just finished a challenging match in the game of life and death that was Identity V. Exhausted but victorious, he looked around for a quiet place to catch his breath.

As he strolled through the courtyard, he heard the gentle sound of a piano playing in the distance. The melancholic notes seemed to beckon him toward the manor's lush garden. Following the music, he soon found himself in a serene and beautiful space, where vibrant flowers adorned the landscape, and the melodious tunes seemed to dance in harmony with nature.

To his surprise, sitting on a bench near the fountain, playing the piano with unmatched grace, was none other than Claude Desaulniers - a relative he hadn't seen in years. Claude looked up and noticed Joseph, his face breaking into a warm smile.

"Joseph, my dear brother! I never expected to see you here," Claude exclaimed, rising from the piano bench and approaching Joseph with open arms.

Contains a series of oneshots. One differ from the other. Part 24 - Stressed Out "Hello," she barely heard her brother and felt his hands waving in front of her face since she was so entranced to the pettiness of her own mind. "Earth to Jaycee?" "Yeah, I'm right back down," she mumbled. "Where were you flying out to?" Andrew asked playfully, and she almost groaned at his decision to make fun of her than letting it go and changing the subject. "Cloud nine?" She blushed. "I wish." "Five?" He guessed. "I'd say around one and a half, 'cause it wasn't good at all," she answered it dejectively, but still being honest. "Wow, sad," Andrew responded with sympathy. "You gotta stop reading those sappy romance novels and start looking for your own instead, you know. I'm almost worried." -- Jayce was out, supposedly as the chaperone for her younger twin's date night with the girl's supposedly overprotective older brother, and she's been so stressed out she didn't realize the disaster that was about to come. She should've just believed her guts. And, God, didn't her twelve years experience teach her anything?! -- "We should probably just watch the movie," he suggested. "I can't," she replied softly, "I'm too embarassed to be able to focus on anything other than dying out of embarassment." "Nobody died out of embarassment." She nodded, but still didn't remove her hands. She countered lamely, "I know, it's just my cloud three." "You really are something else."

I sighed, trying to think of ways to apologize when the door swung open. I looked up, expecting Jay to be there. But it was my father. Drunk. His eyes went wide at the sight of me. However, his expression of shock soon turned into pure and utter loathing. "You rotten child!" He grabbed my arm. You could smell the Tobacco and Beer on his breath, so strong it made your eyes water. He thrust me into a wall, the one that separates my room from Jay's. He must have heard the thump, because right after a few blows and a bloody nose received from the drunk, he came charging in. He pushed my father away. "Don't touch my sister!" He demanded. Jay . . . no. He tumbled over and fell on my nightstand, crushing it. His head shot up and he glared at my brother. "So you came home too?" He snarled, lunging himself at Jay, pinning him to the floor as multiple blows struck my brother. "No!" I shrieked, trying to tug him off. "Stop it!" I demanded. He brought his hand back and smacked me across the face. I tumbled over, letting a cry of agony roar out. ******************** Lillieona Snipes lived a life of constant fear with no where to go and no one to turn to, except her big brother Jacob. When she went to her balcony, their eyes met. Her breath caught for a moment, and she froze. He was still there-sitting on the bench outside her house, drenched in rain, his clothes clinging to him like shadows in the night. The wind played with his soaked hair, but his gaze was unwavering, locked on her like a lifeline. Despite the storm, he hadn't moved an inch. She felt a pang in her chest. He should have left by now. He should have walked away when she told him to, but he hadn't. He stayed. "Why did he have to stay?" Her mind, clouded with frustration from her day, couldn't process the silent message his persistence was screaming. She leaned against the railing, staring at him, her heart betraying her mind. The rain poured harder, and she could barely see his face clearly, but his stubborn determination glowed through the storm. Finally, she called out, "Why are you still here?" He stood slowly, wiping water from his eyes, though the rain kept blinding him. His voice was steady despite the cold that must have seeped into his bones. "I told you. I'm not leaving until you say yes."
