Jules Sawyer is a cheerleader, and a good one at that. She attends Penn State University with her best friend Avery Johnson. There is a mystery surrounding her past that no one seems to know about, and it doesn't help she comes to class with dark circles of exhaustion underneath her eyes. Her cheerful smile seems to fool most people, but not Noah.

Noah Jackson is the star quarterback, who has a good chance of making it to the NFL. With his best bro and star wide receiver, Jake Green, at his side, he believes he can conquer anything, except for the mystery of Jules Sawyer. He has been friends with her since high school, but he still hasn't learned anything new.

In this story, Noah will find out her secret, but how will he react to it? Will their stories go the way they hoped? Find out more inside "Not Like You."

TW: there are themes of violence, SA and Grape, Suicidal thoughts and self-harm, PTSD, and a few more. Please read at your own risk, and remember, my dms are always open.

Noah Hayes is the kind of guy everyone notices-fun, confident, and the star quarterback of Riverview High. Everyone loves him, and everyone assumes they know him. But no one knows the truth that keeps him up at night: Noah likes boys, and he hates himself for it. He's built walls so high even he can't see over them. Julian Bennett is the opposite of Noah in every way. Quiet, shy, and sweet, he fades into the background without trying. But behind his timid demeanor lies a bold, unspoken confidence about who he is, even if no one else really notices. When Noah and Julian get paired together in class, neither expects anything beyond awkward study sessions and polite conversation. But sparks fly, and soon Julian becomes Noah's tutor-both in academics and in feelings Noah has tried to bury for years. One kiss turns into a secret relationship, and Noah finally allows himself to feel something real. For a while, everything seems perfect. Until the pressure catches up. Torn between the world he's built and the world he secretly craves, Noah makes a choice that shatters Julian's heart and leaves them both broken. When Julian shows up at one of Noah's games with his friends, Noah pretends not to care. But on the field, with the roar of the crowd and the ache of regret, Noah realizes he's at a crossroads. Will he keep running from himself, or will he risk everything to prove that what he and Julian had wasn't just a secret, but something real?

Nathan Baker hates Julian Cruz. He hates his snarky attitude, he hates how overly confident he is, but most of all--he hates how good he is at football. He hates how stupid Roosevelt High school took home the championship trophy and the way the stupid rival team picked up his stupid rival, chanted his stupid name while he looked at Nathan with a stupid grin. Yep, Nathan hates him. But this year is his year. He's the captain of the Cortland Foxes football team, he's the starting quarterback, and he finally is back on good terms with his on and off girlfriend, Veronica. Senior year is the year. That is until on the first day of training the coach introduces someone who, in fact, does not need an introduction and Nathan almost explodes with anger on the spot. The feeling of hatred is very much mutual for Julian Cruz. He hates Nathan Baker with every fiber in his body. He hates his Hollywood attitude, he hates how rich he is, but greater than all--he hates how good he is at football. Sure, Julian had made the lucky catch and managed to make the final touchdown of the championship game and win, sure, he was praised as a God for the rest of that school year and got scouted by a couple college coaches. But none of that matters now that he and his Mom have gotten kicked out from their apartment and the only place they could find is too far to continue his laid-back life at Roosevelt High. It doesn't matter anymore because now he is forced to go to the one school in the world he would never have chosen if given the chance. Cortland High school, home of the foxes and his worst enemy. Well, since they're on the same team now they have to reach some sort of compromise...right? Who knows, maybe, just maybe, they'll like each other more than either of them thought.
