James Diamond's life was pretty normal until he woke up in an abandoned lab on an island off the coast of California covered in scars, with no memory of what happened and weird powers. The island, once home to a thriving city of thousands of people, is now falling apart and home to thousands of decaying, hungry zombies. James is all alone; the only human among the living dead. Or so it seems.
Will James find the few survivors who remain on the island? And with their help, will he be able to escape in search of his family and answers to his many questions? And who remembers what from their not-so-long-ago shared past?

After an epidemic that gave half the population an incurable disease, only a few major cities remained. One of these included the wealthy city of Tallahassee, Florida, where they had the brightest minds looking for a cure. George Davidson was among those minds: his father was one of the richest people in the world prior to the outbreak and had sent George to one of the most prestigious medical schools in the country. Afterwards, after an incident that caused much grief in the Davidson family, George's father had set George on finding a cure. Finally, after four years of sleepless nights and painful losses, George had done it. He'd found the cure. But if that was the case, then why did he hire a coyote to smuggle him out of the city? Why did he run away with the only known cure for zombie-ism? TW: there's not much in this story other than some depictions of blood, violence, death, and just overall gross/gory stuff 12/1/21- this is a cool date for a cool landmark! 800 readssss 😩Complete

As Brooke and her friends follow the crowd heading for the ports they encounter old faces and new.
