Carter Mason has always known there was something different about her, ever since she was young. Mystic Falls, the town in which she was born and raised, is very peculiar in itself because of one thing: it's crawling with the supernatural. Because of her parents, Carter has known all of these things from a young age. But when a mysterious and charming family moves to Mystic Falls, she finds herself trapped in the midst of all of these things and discovering things about herself that she doesn't want to unearth; in order to live happily, there is only one escape.
