    Mondo had only 3 friends, Chihiro, Leon, and Yasuhiro. Or, at least, 3 real friends that wasn't just a vision.
    
    Mondo always has these visions of Taka. Whether he was doing his classwork, walking home from school, maybe a reflection in the mirror, or just a regular person at Hope's Peak.
    
    Or he may be a vague memory, or just an unnamed person watching over Mondo and protecting him while sleeping.
