It is the morning before the summer solstice and Charon Juet's life is ruined. Or anyway, that's what her mother has just told her. The following day is Charon's 40th birthday and there is nothing to celebrate. Born on a momentous day in the history of Mars, Pennsylvania, Charon Juet was expected to live a charmed life. Instead, she pours coffee, flips pancakes, and fends off unwanted compliments from the patrons of the only diner in Mars. 

With little to lose, Charon asks a stranger to come home with her. At the doorstep, Charon is stopped by a small lie she told earlier in the day. It was the kind of lie we tell strangers all the time. Or maybe it was mostly a lie, but (also) partly the truth. Regardless, it was truly truly absolutely the worst timing ever.All Rights Reserved

It was a normal day for Y/N.. until you agree to help run a test that scientist are trying to do. They tell you that it's a new teleporting device. If it is successful, then this will change how people travel forever. You decide to be the first person to use it... However, it went horribly wrong. You pass out and wake up in a large neon city filled with strange humanoid creatures that appear to be animals... As if that wasn't bad enough.. You have to figure out where you are, and how to get back home.. but that won't be easy when people find out a new species just arrived in the city. I don't own any of the art used in the story. Each has a To Do List to keep the day moving forward. Each checks-off tasks as they are completed. Throughout their lives, the Quislings of Baltimore had ordinary jobs, yielding ordinary means, and they lived in ordinary times. The only extraordinary aspect of their story was the odd coincidence that nearly every event of any importance in their lives occurred in the month of May - the month of false hope. May I? Maybe. May not.
