If you're like me, you probably wonder where all the good bowling stories have been hiding.  You imagine all those dramatic moments where the pins are impossibly far apart, and it seems that no god or human could ever knock them all over at once. And yet, we are both romantics, you and I. We hold onto the belief that if we think hard enough and dream deeply enough, every pin will fall. That is our personal (bowling) fairy tale. While it may be impossible, it is good enough for us. Good enough to bring faith to the faithless, hope to the hopeless, and charity to the forgotten.All Rights Reserved

People always say every life should be cherished. That every single one of them is equally fragile and precious. Like a beautiful glass sculpture or the blossoming flowers in spring. But the thing is, everyone's definition of beautiful is different. Some people prefer roses over orchids. Some of them like sculptures of people whereas others like sculptures of animals. And so there are times when even the most beautiful sculpture gets thrown away like trash or forgotten somewhere because they found one that's prettier. The beautiful flowers that bloomed in spring will wither away and eventually become nothing but dust. There are times when a sculpture in itself could be really beautiful but a tiny flaw will make people deem it as a "mistake". The flowers that are left to wither away just because they miss a leave, or because they aren't the right size or the right colour. So you see that saying about every life being equally precious?, yeah that only counts for the "perfect" ones. Still some of these faulty sculptures and broken flowers managed to make it into the world. They would be facing the harsh reality of this world and would have to fight to survive. Some of them would unfortunately lose this fight in the end, leaving to a faraway place in hopes to find peace and quiet. Still just being able to make it this far in this harsh world is something to be proud of, as friends and family will forever remember these brave individuals who fought hard to survive until the very end. - Kaylee de Leeuw

How would God respond to making a mistake? Would planets collide or mountains slide into the sea? Or would the ledger of all life simply remain out kilter until a series of small events forced that ledger back into balance again? It's probably the latter. After all, you don't want to call attention to your mistakes if you're an all-powerful being. In the drowning at Los Gatos, two children find themselves in circumstances where death is likely. The first child has fallen down an abandoned well and the second is in a plane that is about to crash. God must choose which child will live, which will die, and hope that no mistake is made. It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. First, we are here and then we are not.

Rejection. Betrayal. Heartbreak. Grief. Unfortunately, we've all had a swallow, some more than others, of this bitter brew. This is just a sliver of my chapter that is a part of this world's grand narrative; it's about one person's toe dipping into the brokenness of the Earth, and the ripples, waves, tsunamis it created in her life. A couple of months ago, while consoling a friend grieving the loss of a relationship, he asked me a question no one had ever asked me before. A very vulnerable and powerful question. I had been sharing some of my own similar experiences with him when he messaged me that life changing question, "And, what did you see at the top of the mountain?" While his words were just letters on a screen, I could see the hunger in his eyes, hear the desperation in his voice, sense the overwhelming thirst of a person climbing up an incredibly steep and treacherous mountain. What did I see at the top of the mountain? This book is my answer to this question. Let's go for a hike.

After all, you don't want to call attention to your mistakes if you're an all-powerful being. Across 12 interconnected stories, Just Follow the Cat unravels the events that shape the life of Starling Prindle and the original mistake that started him on his search for the center of the universe. The stories are simultaneously whimsical and nihilistic. They are also poetic in an unconventional way. There are cats and shadows of cats in every story. The 12 stories are told to a woman who can't see, can't hear, and can't react. From beginning to end, her thoughts about what she hears remain a mystery. Or maybe it's more than that. Maybe it's more shrouded. More unknowable. Maybe her thoughts are a riddle surrounded by a mystery that's inside an enigma with the whole mess wrapped in bacon. Maybe. Just maybe she is like a cat who has entered her 10th life and is now content to simply listen. When I write, I try to use simple language and speak directly to the reader. My goal is to have the reader feel as if the story is being told only to them. And my hope is that reading these stories will create a casual and comfortable bond between the reader and the narrator - kind of like sitting across a table from each other, sipping morning coffee, and listening.

So I tried something different. You won't find fairy tale love stories in my collection. I invite you all to read some realistic stories. growing up and growing apart sometimes people who really love you have to leave you for your own good and it's okay to grow apart holding on to things that hurt isn't a wise choice They broke up in college but now are forced into an arranged marriage Will the sparks fly again or........ ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Wrong place, wrong time, wrong people, right man Surrounded with unfortunate events, unfortunate people Those slim waists, slim faces, long hair and long nails Those long legs, large hands, fluffy hair and beaded bracelets They don't belong together last days, best times, red hands and playing fights Social priorities, diwali parties, arm wrestling and life stories That's the closure I needed Searching the crows, you stand tall, stand out Walking out of that building with hurt hands and burnt minds scholar badge, scholar board, Council badges and red coats brown pants,white shirts, black shoes and red ties Sprawling crowds, yellow buses, red rickshaws and black cycles ice cream man, Mother Dairy, white vans and red lights Saw you walking on the footpath with rolled up sleeves with few friends I wouldn't wish I would be there I couldn't wish I could be there Could you be specific who do you like?
