Vampire saliva is an anesthetic. 

It starts off as a joke, but after Rudolph licks Tony's finger and instantly stops the pain from his paper cut, it becomes a habit for Tony to say, "Rudolph, lick it better!" any time he gets a bump or scrape.

So, what will happen when Tony burns the heck out of his tongue on hot coffee?
