This novel is a beautifully haunting and bleak project. I believe that it describes a feeling of quiet desperation, loneliness, and lostness that many of us live with. There are themes of nihilism, suicide, anxiety, hopelessness, and drug abuse. The story is about a young man who is unrequitedly in love with a young woman, named Lily. Enzo, a tortured soul, attempts to find hope and happiness in two women. Lily and Phoenix, the lines between intrigue and obsession grow increasingly gray. He writes love letters to both of them throughout his lifetime. These letters represent his changing worldview, his relationship with hope, and his changing mental health. He tries to fill the void of being deeply unhappy with drugs, philosophy, religion, and alcohol. Yet, he can never succeed.

*TW* Contains topics and scenes of sexual assault, self-harm, abuse.* "You know you loved every second of it," I can feel the tears welling up as well as the anger building up within me. I stare at him for a while before I have to turn away from his hungry gaze. "Look I just came here to tell you that I forgive you for what you did back in Cali and I'll take you back," "You forgive me?" I yell. "I did nothing to you. You raped me! You fucking raped me! You have no right to come here and tell me that. You. Forgive. Me. You traumatized me. What you did to me tore me up inside and was eating away at me until I tried to kill myself. And when I told people they didn't believe me. I had to listen to so many people talk about how great a guy you were and how I clearly just regretted sleeping with you. You are a monster. You made me hate myself for something that was never my fault. You have caused me so much pain and suffering," I pause to take a deep breath. "So you don't get to come here to my school and tell me you forgive me. You don't get to make me feel bad about coming forward. The only thing I regret is ever thinking you were a good person." _____________________________________________ Logan Young is a 16-year-old girl about to start her senior year in a brand new town. Valora Anton is a trained, lethal assassin, and she's running for her life. No one-no one-had ever come close to catching her. But when the net finally closes, she's transferred to an island prison house in the Atlantic, a place known for its brutality. She's certain this is where her journey ends-until she realizes she's wrong. Phoenix Knight is the iron-fisted warden of Atlanta Prisonhouse, feared by every woman under his control. Ruthless, unforgiving, and unbending, he rules with an absolute hand, tormenting misbehaved prisoners without a second thought. His pleasure comes from their suffering, from breaking them, bending them to his will. But when Valora enters his domain, everything shifts. There's something about her-something sharp, dangerous, poisonous-that draws him in. On one hand, he's repulsed by her icy demeanor, her unyielding nature. On the other, he's irresistibly allured by her presence, by the fire that simmers beneath her calm exterior. For the first time in years, Phoenix is out of control. And he hates it. Valora is no ordinary prisoner, and Phoenix is no typical captor. Their dynamic is a volatile cocktail of aggression, manipulation, and raw tension. Each encounter between them ignites a new spark, a dangerous push-pull of venomous desire that neither of them can resist. They are two forces of destruction, locked in a dance that threatens to undo everything they've ever believed in. The real question is: How far will they go to destroy each other? And in the end, who will be left standing, and at what cost? [Second Book of the V-Series] A Standalone Novel Complete.
