I was reading a fanfic for the Smiling Critters a while back, but the original creator mysteriously stopped uploading... So I got impatient and decided to take matters into my own hands. I'm uploading it here so I can collect feedback (and praise) on my work. I hope you like it! Dogday and Catnap have been best friends for the longest time. However, after he has an unusual prophetic dream, he resolves to win the heart of a mysterious boy he meets at on their first day. The Critters, once cheerful mascots meant to comfort children, weren't killed by Catnap - they were spared. The Prototype saw value in them. Twisting their minds, he turned them into loyal disciples of his growing cult. All except one. Labeled a heretic, he was cast out... and the others were made to forget him. There was only one human child to survive the Hour of Joy. Ten years have passed, but the trauma never left him- the smiling faces, the screams, the ones you couldn't save. Life moved on. He didn't. ...The Nightmare critters, a DISCONTINUED opposite version from the Smilingcritters, but instead they were sent down and replaced with frowning critters since they were deemed too 'scary'. Nightmarecritters were soon forgotten from the public, living under the Smiling critters home in the rubble of their own town. Baba would still go up to watch the critters sometimes, missing her old friend Dogday. And Catnap, who had the green light to hangout and be apart of the Smilingcritters instead of the Nightmare ones. Soon though, Baba gets an unhealthy love/hate obsession, and begins going on a VIOLENT emotional and physical rollercoaster. But as Baba starts to bring back Dogday's memories of the past, everyone soon remembers the fake world they're stuck in....
The (New) Life of the Lavender Kitty
In the big city of TFCH (The Foot of Critteriffic Heights) one cat critter in specific has been living day by day, trying to stay happy in his current household. He would constantly stay up at night, and sleep during the day to avoid any form of interactions with his parents. Why? Because they're always peckering on him to change. Despite what he tries, for whatever reason, they're too persistent. They don't let him hang around the people he want to hang around, they're always telling him to be someone he isn't, trying to change his appearance, you name 'em: They're trying to control every aspect of his life. Sometimes they'd even take drastic measures to make sure it's done. Whether it harms or not. For 13 years he has been ignored, yelled at, sometimes even beaten for being the one HE wants to be. It only takes so long for one's sanity to fade though. After an incident with one of his few best friends, he's had enough... He decided to execute a plan he had made years before. Flee... Far... Far away... past Critteriffic Heights Perhaps he could finally find someone who cares and accepts. Maybe even something he was inches away from getting right before he left. Maybe now he can be him. Somewhere else, a dog critter was walking back into his house after a long day of playing around with his friends. When he got inside, he started making his way to the bedroom to rest for the night. But in the corner of his eye, he sensed movement. He tensed up as he decided to investigate it from the window. And there he saw it... Bubba Bubbaphant (Elaphant) (Wears a lightbulb pendant)-Bright and Brainy! Bobby BearHug (Bear) (Wears a heart pendant)-Caring and Compassionate! Crafty Corn (Unicorn) (Wears a rainbow flower pendant)-Artistic and creative! Picky Piggy (Pig) (Wears an apple pendant)- Loves food and nutrition! Hoppy Hopscotch (Rabbit) (Wears a lightning bolt pendant)-Energetic and sometimes impatient! Kickin Chicken (Chicken) (Wears a star pendant)-Cool and confident! This series will have the critters going on adventures, playing games, learning lessons, and living their everyday lives. There even may be a potential romance! I want everyone to know that this series is not relevant to the lore of Poppy Playtime it's fanfiction. I know in the original lore they were children who were made into toys.
