Peter Pan and Wendy darling's relationship has always inspired me.
Even though she loved him, and he offered her a forever, she refused. She was independent and knew her mind led her to pursue her own purpose. She was strong, and was meant for far more than a boy, and she knew that.
Peter Pan, although was heartbroken, loved her, and let her go. He would not hold her back, and in the end would still love her.
This relationship defines real love, no matter what the outcome came to be.
However, what happens when Wendy has achieved all she has ever wanted, and the only thing left was Peter Pan?

In which a boy who thinks he controls everything meets the girl who actually does. --- Peter Pan is king of Neverland, a mystical island of his own creation. His Lost Boys serve as his troops and have been his only company for the last millennium. Until his shadow brought a girl to Neverland, by the name of Wendy Darling. But she's not the one this story's about. Why? It's simple. Because she's dead. She broke Peter's heart, so he killed her. Only he and the Lost Boys know what happened the night Wendy disappeared, and Peter means to take the secret to his grave, assuming he ever dies, of course. If the Lost Boys know what's good for them, they will too. None of the other creatures on the island have any idea of what became of the one girl who had ever set foot on Neverland. And whatever doesn't sit well with Peter, he either figures it out or kills it. Only when the Darling's welcome the orphan boy Baelfire to live in the children's room, he and Wendy can figure out why the shadow keeps coming back: He wants one of Wendy's little brothers. As she and her brothers arrives to Neverland she finds out that a war is brewing between Peter Pan and his rival Captain Hook and that Peter Pan has a secret that he doesn't want anyone to know...especially Wendy Peter Pan had always only taken boys who most desperately wanted away from the world they hated. And one night as he's talking with one of the boys a girl with her golden hair barge in and thought she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. The next night he came back to watch her a little bit hoping that she would be the "mother" of the boys who were on Neverland. He offers her a chance of a lifetime to come with him but, she says only if my brothers can come long. And as they get to Neverland the battle that was brewing with his rival became stronger and put the girl named Wendy (who he started to like) in more danger then he thought. An unwanted marriage, Hook's newest dastardly plans for revenge, an evil released upon the island, blossoming feelings, and a past threatening to be remembered.
