Devan Lochees, better known as the Chronicler, might be seen as nothing but the author of Kvothe the Bloodless's biography. But whoever thinks of him this way, has certainly never gotten to know him.

Follow his journey from his early years at the University to the moment he met Kote and Bast at the Waystone Inn. Is he really nothing more than a prolific scribe? Is the Name of Iron truly the only name he knows?

Author's Note: I am putting some effort into this story to try and make something that can actually be regarded as a complement to the trilogy. I'll try my best to not fall short of Patrick's prose and narrative by that much, but in the end it's inevitable. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and that it might sate some of those Doors of Stone cravings.
