After a virus rampaged Veltari City and locked everyone within the city limits, Kesiah struggles to find her place in the world. She refuses to believe that they are all trapped for good and searches for a way to expose the corrupt city officials and the truths they've been keeping from everyone. The leaders couldn't get along and split the city in half, creating a literal divide amongst the people. Etienne was sent to the opposing sector and isn't allowed contact with Kesiah or anyone else from the life he has always known. It's a world where some teenagers who aren't even two decades old somehow mystically defeat the descendants of legendary heroes, ancient demons, powerful dragons, etc. Why does this happen?
