Stuck at the bottom of the rankings, Sleet has always believed discipline and hard work would be her savior to attaining her rightful position at the top of IceWing palace society. When a sudden opportunity presents itself, she takes it eagerly in hopes of a promotion. However, when she discovers something that might cause the downfall of the IceWing tribe: Sleet panics and tries to hide it from everyone. But hiding the truth from your own tribe is hard to do, and the weight of secrecy is pressing down on Sleet like a ton of icicles piercing her very soul. It soon becomes too much for the young IceWing to handle and she runs away, realizing that by doing so, she is only making things worse for both herself and her tribe. Was it wrong of her to go looking for answers? Or should she have just left things alone and move on with her life?

𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙬𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙖𝙧, 𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙨... Decades of wars and unrest have clawed at the sides of Pyrrhia's dragons for as long as they can remember, and the tales of true peace and dragonets of prophecy are simply whispers of the past. Shrike has never been regarded by his tribe as a real SkyWing. His mother fell ill and passed away when he was a dragonet, and his father, a royal SeaWing, was executed by his dictatorial queen as soon as it was found out that he'd had an affair with a common SkyWing. Still, Shrike remains tethered to the Queen and his tribe. Years of lost wars, unfulfilled treaties, and an excessively lavish lifestyle lived by their ruler, Queen Markhor, have left the SkyWing tribe impoverished and starving, and Shrike, the princess's personal bodyguard, has witnessed the consequences of the Queen's ignorance firsthand. A diplomacy meeting with the SeaWings gone wrong erupts in yet another bloody war, and Shrike is swept up in battle before finding himself caught in between the jaws of the political turmoil that seem to be tearing his tribe apart from the inside out. To make matters worse, a warning delivered years before by the continentally renowned prophet, Hereafter, is unraveling before Shrike's eyes, and its exhortations seem like an echo chamber awfully reminiscent of his own life. That coupled with a newfound power in his claws leaves him spiraling and wondering one question: could 𝘩𝘦 be the terror of talons? ✦ Please read the introductory pages! They will be EXTREMELY informative for understanding the basics of Pyrrhia's situation and the timeline leading up to this story. Consider leaving a vote if you enjoy this story! Constructive criticism and other comments are always welcome.

*COMPLETE* What would've happened if the Jade Winglet never got wrapped up with Darkstalker? If Sora had never tried to kill Icicle? If Winter had never gone looking for Hailstorm with his friends? What if they never got involved in the perils and dangers they faced in the WoF series, and instead the worst things they have to worry about are assignments, drama, and bullies? At least for most of them... Winter is an IceWing as harsh and narcissistic as they come, desperately trying to live up to his parents' expectations. Moonwatcher is a shy, scroll-loving NightWing who hates unfamiliar places. When these two dragons' worlds collide at Jade Mountain Academy, their initial hatred for one another soon blossoms into something more, something neither of them has ever experienced before. At first, things go well for both of them at the academy. However, they quickly learn that the world here can still be as unforgiving as it is outside of school. And when students start going missing, it becomes clear that there's something sinister going on... Together, along with five other friends, can they survive mountains of schoolwork, bullies, and drama that neither of them wanted to get involved in to begin with? Find out by reading Ice at Midnight: A Winterwatcher Fanfic! *Note: I DID NOT MAKE THIS COVER. Carni_Crimson did, huge shout-out for her art skills! Darkstalker's face flashed through her mind: the face of a dragon she had yet to meet, but whose face came with a torrent of visions--joy and love and pain and horror, so mixed-up she couldn't untangle it, couldn't even breathe when she thought about it. -Legends: Darkstalker What would the world have been like if Darkstalker hadn't gotten started down his path of darkness? If he hadn't started doing secret spells? Or if Clearsight had just noticed a little faster than she did? Or if the future had just been a little easier to reach? This is the story of two dragons whose futures are entangled far too closely. This is the story of hope and hopelessness, and of how the future is something you can lose. This is a story of how happy endings can fall apart, and how life is never neat. Or easy. This is a story of how happy endings can fall apart, and how to put them back together again. All characters, except my OCs, and the world of Pyrhhia, belong to Tui T. Sutherland. ***USUALLY UPDATES EVERY FRIDAY***
