The Night it Started

Jenny and Alex had grown up in the same neighborhood, but they lived in completely different worlds.

Alex was part of the high school soccer team, him and his four closest friends, James, Elijah, and Mateo.They were the most popular boys around, known for being athletic, confident, and a little rebellious.

Jenny, meanwhile, lived a quieter life. She was shy, sweet, and deeply kind, spending most of her time with her best friends Ashley and Aria.

Ashley was her lifelong, responsible best friend, while Aria had just moved back into the neighborhood for senior year with a more rebellious edge. Jenny also stayed close to her family and her church, where she was known for her gentle nature.

At first, Alex barely noticed her. But over time, something shifted between them, and they began talking in secret.

Soon, they were secretly seeing each other-texting late at night, meeting in quiet corners of the neighborhood, and carefully hiding it from both groups of friends. Around the boys Alex acted the same as always, laughing and joking like nothing had changed. Jenny did the same with Ashley, and
Aria, keeping her feelings carefully tucked away.

But in a neighborhood this small, secrets never stayed hidden for long. And the closer they got, the harder it became to pretend they didn't exist in each other's worlds.
