It’s 1955 and Tom Carver is a young architect living in Australia. He travels across to England to visit family and whilst travelling on a train from London to Cornwall he has a chance meeting that changes his life forever.
At the outset he is a rather callow and shallow young man, but through his travels and trials he becomes so much more.
His story takes him from Cornwall, to London and Sydney.
He learns compassion when he realises that the only difference between himself and others less fortunate is usually nothing more than sheer luck.

His lips are dominating my own, as his hands travel down my back, and he tugs on my shirt, to release it from my skirt. His hands then caresses my bare skin for a few minutes, before he sits up. He brings me with him, and I'm now straddling his lap. His eyes are filled with lust, and I'm so damn scared, for completely different reasons than earlier tonight. His skillful fingers finds the buttons of my shirt, and he opens them slowly, while I lean back down towards him, to make our lips connect again. I might come to my senses if he doesn't keep kissing me. He tugs the shirt off of me, and his hands run across my bare stomach. He stops, suddenly, and I feel a sharp sting under my left boob. "What happened? Are you..." He trails off, as he looks down at my body, and I stiffen. Holy shit, I forgot all about that. "Ives... What is this?" he asks, and he pulls his hands away from me. 🌹 Ives has just moved away from her overprotective brother and their alcoholic dad to go to college. 23 parts Complete
Emily Moore is a 24 year old who was originally born in London but moved to Boston when she was 19. She was never planning on building a life there; it was merely supposed to be a pit-stop before she moved onto the next country on her travel across the world. Obviously fate had different plans for her as she soon found herself fond of the place she now calls home. The only down side to the end of her travelling dream was the years she wasted learning different languages to prepare herself, but she was yet to realise they could actually come in handy soon. For the past six years she has been working at McGinty's where she gets to spend time with her surrogate granddad Doc, her annoying brother/bestfriend figures Conner and Rocco and most importantly her boyfriend Murphy. They hit it off instantly but it wasn't until two years ago that they hooked up after a booze filled 22th birthday party for Emily. Not the most romantic way to start a relationship, but they've been together ever since. They weren't your average couple. They didn't walk around calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend or constantly telling each other that they loved one another because they just didn't need too. They both mutually understood that he was hers and she was his- Murphy often making sure every other man in the pub knew as well- and they both knew how much the other loved them; often more through actions rather then words. Although they often liked comparing their relationship to cheesy Westlife songs, 'Unbreakable' always coming out on top in their list of favourites.
