Mystery
"Jadine? The police are here!" The same detective that saw me yesterday was in front me. Detective Russo. He looked more tired, dark moons under his eyes and I could pick out flecks of grays in his hair. The air quickly turned to ice, leaving me uncomfortable and disoriented. "Yes?" "Jadine, I need to show you something we've found." I nod as if for him to continue. "...You may want to sit down for this," I did as he said and plopped into an old wooden chair. "We found some markings on Alyss' body-" "Markings?" Russo lets out an impatient sigh. "Your name was engraved in her flesh." I was gaping, letting the information sink in. "It was more of a message..." "W-what did it say?" "It said, 'Everyone isn't who they appear to be, Jadine.'"

A cold cop and his newly wedded wife go from enemies to lovers, with teasing and roasting adding spice to their journey. As they navigate their roles and desires, their relationship heats up, blending thrilling crime narratives with steamy romance. Add in some jealousness, possessiveness, intimate moments and a lot of second-hand embarrassment. xxxx "Baby, why are you glowing all of a sudden?" Asher's voice was laced with amusement, his eyes twinkling mischievously. "I glow every day. You just failed to see it," I replied with a teasing smirk, rolling my eyes in mock exasperation. "Oh, I know! You're glowing because you're an angel on Earth-" he started, his tone full of charm. "And this angel will be taking the window seat," I cut him off with a laugh, seeing through his playful tactics. Asher feigned disappointment, his lips forming a pout. "But baby, I wanted to enjoy the view with my favorite person." I leaned in closer, a playful glint in my eyes. "You'll still enjoy the view, just from the aisle seat this time." He chuckled, shaking his head in mock defeat. "Alright, angel, you win this round." I grinned triumphantly, feeling a rush of excitement. "Just this round? I always win, you know." He leaned even closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Well, maybe I let you win because I like seeing that victorious smile on your face." My cheeks flushed at his words, and I playfully nudged his shoulder. "Smooth talker." He winked, his gaze holding mine. "Only for you, angel."
