Jesse Rutherford and Billie Eilish are a happy couple who both share a passion for flying. They're both pilots for American Airlines, and they are expecting their first child in a matter of two months. Billie is on maternity leave, while Jesse has to fly one last time as the co-pilot of flight AA370 from Los Angeles to Tokyo. The love birds say goodbye at the LAX Airport, not knowing that this might be the last time they'd ever see each other.

Flight AA370 takes off normally, but soon after reaching cruising altitude, it disappears from radar and communication systems. No one knows what happened to the plane or its passengers and crew. Billie is devastated by the news and refuses to give up hope. She joins the search efforts, hoping to find some clues or signs of life. She also tries to cope with her pregnancy and the looming delivery date.

She also has to prepare for the birth of their child. She wonders if she can ever move on from this tragedy, or if she will always be lost in flight.
