Josephine Finch spent most of her life with her grandmother, but when beloved Nana passes away she's left in the care of her long lost aunt.
Moving away from the sunny peninsula of Florida and to cold and wet Washington, Jo must learn how to navigate the curious community of her new semi-rural town, and the odd hierarchy of Smith's Private Secondary School.
In finding her stance in this new community, Jo Finch unknowingly comes close to the underbelly of a long-standing conflict previously laid dormant in the town just southwest of Carlsborg. Entrails of this conflict come to the surface at Jo's arrival, and she must now figure out how to solve the mystery of a newfound ability as well as the mystery of her new town.
