Risk

Risk: *noun* a situation involving exposure to danger.
*verb* expose (someone or something valued) to danger, harm, or loss.
People are willing to lose everything they hold dear in a gamble. The bets are high, and so are the stakes; players are willing to risk it all for a slight chance of winning. "What are my chances of making it out of here?" I barked, my tone was cold and sharp. The world around me is dark. "You think I'd let you leave." He screamed out, "Eh, worth a shot." I cackled, "Let's see if that boyfriend of yours will come save you?" He snarled with a wicked and cruel laugh. He won't, that was my gamble.
