The King is dead! Long live the ........?

The king has died, but despite his multiple marriages and mistresses, he has never sired a son. So the crown should go to his eldest daughter, right? Wrong! The newly proclaimed Queen Regent must locate and marry the first eligible male with a claim to the throne before her 21st birthday, which happens to be in seven days. Failure will result in the Kingdom falling into a Civil War with those who wish to put an end to the monarchy once and for all.

"A single night can change the course of your entire life." . . . [Yandere Prince x Female Reader] Once upon a time, in the tiny kingdom of Vascini, there lived a beautiful girl by the name of Y/N Magnifico. Y/N was born into one of the five most influential families in the whole country, but as the years passed the cruelty of her father only grew. Eventually, Y/N was forced to become a maid in her own home, and serve her new stepmother, and stepsisters. Y/N had given up hope for ever escaping her wicked family, until one day, a kind and handsome stranger rescued her and brought her to the Castle Vascini. Once there she discovered that her rescuer was actually the Royal Tutor, who had been ordered to find the prince a bride in the next three months. Indebted to the man for saving her from her terrible situation, Y/N had no choice but to agree to the tutor's crazy plan to turn her into the perfect bride for the prince. But what if this plan ended up working a bit too well? Despair and hopelessness lay behind her, while trickery, danger, and obsession wait in masquerade for Y/N. Will she be able to survive this re-telling of an old fairytale and life long enough to find true love, or will something much more twisted take its place? ⚠WARNING⚠ there will be a few mature themes in the book including (but not limited to): -domestic violence and abuse -trickery -sexual references -violence -mental illness -politics -murder -manipulation -obsession -gore Reader discretion is advised. ~J. #99 The royal family needs a male heir to the throne, and they're willing to accept any boy, even if he's born to their least hinged relative. ~~~ When family is twisted around madness, dark things happen. But is it really madness, or the symptom of a deeper truth than the world could bear? Ivan the Bloodthirsty rebelled against the crown and was locked up for his misdeeds. King Boris and Queen Radoslava were as unworthy of the crown as Ivan, but as they wee the couple in power, they wrote the rules on who was fit to rule and who was not. Ivan's half-brother Andrej and wife Nadia rose to power after Boris died, but as they tried to have children, every chance for an heir failed. Andrej knew what his mother, Radoslava, had done, and blamed The Cup of Madness, a demonic chalice that warped the world into bouts of decay and destruction for their current misfortunes. As he felt injustice was wrapped around their futures, he chose to secretly gain an heir off his mad brother, which meant having a woman, Milena, seduce him while he was imprisoned. Raising Prince Laszlo and Princess Leena would have been a fairytale in a happy kingdom, but decay rots their world, men are monsters, and the only protection for a little girl in need comes from the demon within the chalice. And it only holds enough power to make more demons, in order to save the world. Will the child drink deep from the cup and sacrifice herself to fix what went wrong?
