Sanem is a young girl who lost her parents in a car accident. Sanem and Leyla Sanem's sister, lived with their aunt and uncle for a couple of years but it was time for them to go on their own. It was hard leaving, but fate had plans for the sisters.
Can Divit, is a world renowned photographer, comes from a wealthy family. He's kind of a wild card, but has a heart of gold. But doesn't like to show it. His brother Emre works in the family business, but Can is happy doing what he does best. But his father wants him to settle into the business. But Can still wants to travel, but who knows what the future holds.

Erkenci Kuş: Broken Promises
Snippets of alternate outcomes in the lives and enduring love story of Can Divit and Sanem Aydin. When I started out with this story, I only intended to loosely base the 'short piece' on the events in Bolum (Episodes) 17 & 18 however, I got such positive feedback, I decided to stretch it out a bit. I'm still unsure how far I will stretch it but so far, I'm enjoying writing it and will keep going till I run out of steam. I can't think of any show/movie that I've watched in recent times to which I have reacted as I did when I watched Erkenci Kuş. The characters hooked their claws into me and wouldn't let go. I rooted for Sanem and Can; cried and laughed with them; railed at and cursed their detractors and finally rejoiced over their reunion. However, the ending was so rushed. After all the angst we were put through with their relationship, I felt robbed of an extended happily-ever-after. What we were given was too short. I hope to right that wrong, amongst others, with this story. Though I only watched the show in Jan/Feb 2023, I have since rewatched it countless times. There were certain parts of the plot which wound me up so much so this is me writing what I wished had happened. Enjoy!Complete

10 minutes can be an eternity or a blink of an eye depending on where you're standing. For Sanem Aydin it was all the time it took to loose what she loved more than life itself, but she wouldn't look back. Those ten minutes showed her that her love was not reciprocated in kind and that it had all been an illusion crafted by an experienced seducer upon a naive and foolish girl. But that would be the last time that would ever happen to her. 10 minutes more and she's be flying over her homeland and away from her heartache. 10 minutes later she was falling asleep with a sob choking her to escape and tears burning behind her eyes. 10 minutes later and she was being carried to the bedroom at the back of the jet in the arms of the man she had crushed on so many years ago and who had swept in like a hero to save her. In 10 minutes she would be his if only he would ask. 10 minutes or less. 10 minutes was all it took to see him drunk. 10 minutes later Can Divit had a companion. 10 minutes more was all he needed to get the blond into his bed. 10 minutes was all it took to realize he had made a horrible mistake, but his ego and his pride wouldn't let him turn around and go back. When he finally came to his senses after swimming in his own guilt for weeks on end he all but ran to buy a ticket back home but he was 10 minutes too late. Flights were sold out. For the next 10 minutes he called her number but there was no response. The night would be endless but when he finally made it back he may as well have been a ghost. It was his fault he knew it and he was prepared to crawl back on hands and knees. He begged for 10 minutes of her time. Just 10 minutes to explain but she was gone and it would take what felt like a lifetime before he saw her again. 10 minutes to fall in love again. Sanem lost her parents and older sister in a car accident when she was only eight. Mirhiban, the wife of Aziz Divit, the owner of the hotel where Sanem's father had been the manager until the moment he passed away, was a very loving and endearing woman; her heart almost broke when she found out about the little girl left behind and quickly organized for her to stay with her and her family. Her own sons, Can and Emre, were already teenagers; Can was a sweet sixteener and Emre...a grouchy fourteener, so a little girl to take care of was just what she needed. From the moment Can met this...tiny but so beautiful little girl with her big, dark deer eyes, he felt a very special bond between them. Mirhiban felt it too and happily noticed that Sanem trusted her eldest son ever since. Can spent all the time he could with 'his little babygirl' and helped her get through the loss of her own family. But both of them would grow up into adults, and...what about that 'special bond' between the sweet sixteener and that so tiny and beautiful little girl when that happens..?
