Boston, Massachusetts Bay Colony, 1640 A young Puritan woman named Hester Prynne learns her husband is missing, presumed dead. She is secretly glad to be able to maintain her independence until she seeks comfort from a new minister, Reverend Mr. Dimmesdale. Despite each knowing that their strict religion bans any relationship between them, the pair cannot help but develop a deep bond, and each face a different consequence for it, namely a Scarlet Letter. --- If you have ever read The Scarlet Letter: A Romance by Nathaniel Hawthorne and thought to yourself, what romance? How did these two goody goodies commit the sexual sinning needed for this plot to happen? Well, friends, I have given it a lot of thought, and trying to mimic the diction of the source material, I present my interpretation of the romance and maybe you will be a little sad that these two lived in such a society they couldn't ever be happy together. "why do you play?" he asked one evening, finding you had been practicing alone while the other residents were outside in the pool. his finger had tapped on the page you were fixated on, allowing you to glance up and meet his gaze as well as read the lips that spoke of syllables deaf to your ears. you peered at him curiously, and for a moment chishiya thought that maybe he had spoken too quick for you to comprehend. but before he could fix his mistake you were fixing your bench and tapping on the keys, a melody entrancing his ears. many emotions hit him at once, leaving him in a daze and struggling to grasp onto them all. but he listened, he put his full attention to the sounds you played trying to give him what he wanted. it was giving him a sense of...clarity was it? is this what the music you had no ability to understand leaving you with? why? it left him frustrated, for he was not happy with the outcome of his curiosity. how were you able to find such solitude in the very thing you lacked? what did that leave him with? eventually the sounds ceased, until you stilled your hands and dropped them to lay in your lap. you peered up at him, awaiting his reaction and chishiya could only provide you with a fake enough smile to label him a phony, "how peculiar."Concluida

But, without her doctor giving her psychotherapy, she forgets fragments of things that happen the day before. To keep herself sane and safe, she writes in a journal to keep track of who she is now rather than who she was before, a participant in the Borderlands. As days go by in the Borderlands, Y/N forgets how much time passes by before the face cards were introduced. This new stage introduces her to Shuntarō Chishiya, a man who seems like a stranger to her, but in reality was the same doctor who gave her psychotherapy.Concluida
