In the land of Araelia, two powerful kingdoms were forced into a terrifyingly unstable treaty after a gruesome war that ended in the death of Queen Irena Drakarr of Drakestone, who was killed by the brutal and bloodthirsty King Alaric Zenhir of Zenithrae - after Drakestone had already declared its surrender. With Irena gone, the citizens of Drakestone no longer possessed the magic she kindly bestowed upon them.

Irena's husband, King Draktus, retaliates by using the rest of his magic to curse the Kingdom of Zenithrae, making it impossible for their magic to be used to harm or kill anyone ever again.

As a token of peace, the Kingdom of Zenithrae now funnels a portion of its magic to Drakestone to be given to its inhabitants.

Unfortunately, this is not enough for Grimmur, the son of the murdered queen.

So Grimmur eventually has one child of his own. A son: Prince Cinte Drakarr of Drakestone. At the age of 6, Cinte begins a long road of agonizing training, his physical and mental abilities being pushed beyond comprehension. His ability to feel any sort of emotion is snuffed out like a candle by his father's relentless demands. For 15 years, he was trained for one purpose:

To avenge his grandmother, Irena.

To get revenge for his father, Grimmur.

To kill the granddaughter of King Alaric Zenhir.

But is any man truly strong enough to kill an innocent girl? Will Cinte be able to follow through with his father's plan, or is his purpose much more complex than just fulfilling the role of his father's personal assassin?

Until, that is, Niccola runs into a man in the marketplace who bears a family resemblance to the woman she seeks. His name is Isaiah, crown prince of Calis, and he's investigating disappearances, too. The Last Knights of Cambria Book 1: Echoes of Gideon by kullman
16 parts Complete
Gideon Saint is dying for something exciting to happen in his life. With his love of history, he figures an internship at the museum has to be a good start, right? Anything is better than listening to his parents argue or sitting alone in his room doing research no one but him seems to care about. A chance encounter with a magical ring leaves him transported to an alternate version of ancient Wales, or as it was sometimes called, Cambria. 1432 Wales, to be exact. Here magic is the most powerful weapon of all as kings vie for power. Good thing Gideon's teleportation from the present has also left him with the ability to use magic, and he's quickly regarded as a powerful wizard. In this timeline, Wales maintained it's independence, but that's about to change. Henry V is on the throne of the England, and the greatest warrior king England has ever had has set his sights on Wales. Can Gideon help save his newfound friends and master his new powers, while living a double life in the 21st century? Ahem, living people die, dying people live, Henry V is here and he's awesome despite being the main antagonist, everybody is vaguely gay, swords are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Basically, think of this as a Percy Jackson type of adventure, but it's historical fiction instead of Greek gods. The narrator is 15 and the major supporting characters are 14, 17, and 19. That said, there's nothing in the way of content that's inappropriate for a younger reader. As always if you're not here to go on a fun little adventure find a different story. Trigger/Content: very mild language, some magic violence, fantasy violence. Self-harm is briefly discussed. Adoption issues are discussed as well as brief scenes of a abusive family. Characters briefly mention crushes and or dating, no real innuendos.
