In a medieval fantasy world, a young nobleman's mundane life is interrupted by a sudden declaration of war by his king, for seemingly no reason. His protests lead to exile, and he soon catches the eye of a mad, power-hungry queen. In the queen's trials set before him, he discovers the true meaning of his kingdom's war, and his own dark secret.

I was mid rewrite on this book so at some point the story jumps and shifts gears. Sorry not sorry. I'll adjust eventually. He watches from the shadows as the girl whose magic could make the world stop turning finally decides to light the match and watch the world burn around her. Finally putting herself first and not allowing her powers to be a circus act to the higher council she struggles to let in the man who pulled her away from the very scene that would have turned everyone's world upside down. But who is going to save her when everyone she knows finds out just how powerful she is and their fear will push them to try everything in their will to capture and harness the power from within her.
