Ellie, with her sarcastic insight on life, is unable to make light of her fear of airplanes and the fact that she is literally dangling, suspended, by a string bound loosely around the pilot's middle finger. Her suspicion of planes and her unrelenting belief that humans are meant to play out their lives on solid surfaces is what drives her uncertainty of the winged contraptions. Ellie is fully aware of the Slim Jim chance there is of her plane actually crashing, but what if the chances aren't really as minuscule as they claim to be? Her suspicions scream true as she winds up in the middle of nowhere with only the seemingly spineless creatures that litter the molten sand to keep her company. Will she ever find her way home? Will she discover refuge in this merciless oven she is now deemed to wander aimlessly around?
