Si Horohamaro ay isinilang sa mundo ng mga tao. Sa edad na sampu, siya at ang kanyang mga magulang ay nahulog sa tinatawag na Itim na Sumpa-isang mahiwagang puwang na nagdala sa kanila sa Maliwanag na Mundo, isang kaharian ng liwanag, alaala, at mga lihim.
Nawalan ng alaala si Horohamaro at hindi niya alam na ang mga taong nasa paligid niya ay ang kanyang sariling pamilya. Sinubukan niyang ikuwento ang nangyari, ngunit walang nakinig.
Sa loob ng kaharian, siya ay sinanay bilang isang Samurai ng Liwanag. Dito niya nakaharap si Kuro Takashi, isang mandirigmang nilamon ng dilim, na ipinadala ng Haring Demonyo upang wasakin ang Kaharian ng Liwanag.
Sa matinding labanan, nagising ni Horohamaro ang kanyang Anyo ng Diyos ng Liwanag, at tinalo si Kuro, nailigtas ang kaharian.
Ngunit hindi pa tapos ang kanyang kwento.
Isang mas malakas na panganib ang paparating-isang bagyong may dugong kapatid.
Si Raijin Takashi, ang nakatatandang kapatid ni Kuro, ay bumangon mula sa sumpang mundo.
Isang Samurai ng Dilim na may kapangyarihang kidlat at galit na hinubog ng demonyo. Hindi siya tulad ni Kuro-si Raijin ay isinilang upang tapusin ang liwanag, at ang kanyang misyon ay personal.
