"The Empire considered to be the greatest and most powerful of all the nations forged by Men, but what isn't told to the masses within the so called 'Great Empire' is that they are beset on all sides by enemies ranging from marauding Beastmen that seemingly emerge from its great and vast forests, to the mighty WAAGHs of Orc tribes and Goblin bands that inhabit the mountains on its eastern borders to even the very Lords and Nobles that govern the land, the very same Lords and Nobles who pillage and kill there very people, often without impunity. But in these trying times, Heroes are made. The likes of Karl Franz, Balthasar Gelt, Aldebrand Ludenhof, Kurt Helborg and Boris Todbringer are but a mere few from among many that stand out. It is these people that rekindle the embers of hope within many across the Empire. Lies... all of them are mere lies that the Elector Council have fed to the sheep of a dying Empire, with the very outcome of these lies being a fragile illusion of a false peace in the futile attempt for these people in power to not only keep said power, no matter how small or large it is, but to expand their influence and false ideologies. My goal is to not only tear down this fragile illusion that some sheep pretending to be wolves have created, not knowing that a true wolf is waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. To do this, I intend to bring about the events that would bring about an 'Age of Wolves', but not in some misbegotten notion from a love of war and violence that philosophers have placed upon my name, but because I loathe the very stagnation created from this false peace. So... will you join me and my Blackstone Legion in bringing about my Age of Wolves... or will you carry on your meaningless life as a sheep merely awaiting its own slaughter." As happened many times in the past the Fell Ice once again charged down from the north and attacked the world in its effort to turn it into a frozen ball of ice. Only the White Magic and it's ally the Sun could stand against such a vast enemy. From their home in the Valley of the Sun the great tribe of Elves could only watch as the monumental fight unfolded. As the battle intensified and the valley became threatened the tribe separated back into their four original tribes and each made their way back to their ancestral homes. Within their Vales, behind thick stone walls and under powerful domes of magic, they were protected from the onslaught upon the earth. The Elves watched for thousands upon thousands of turns as the war raged overhead. The Fell Ice against the Sun and the White Magic were locked in a struggle lasting for an age, with neither side claiming victory as the earth was ravaged. In time the Fell Ice retreated, as it had so many times in the past. Beaten, yet not defeated, only biding it's time for the next attack. It returned to its frozen Kingdom at the Top of the World, thus ending this last Age of Ice. This time, as the earth warmed around them, the Elves remained secluded from the world in their hidden Vales. They observed from afar life returning to the lands and took stock of man becoming the dominant ones as their numbers grew and spread. As the Elves watched they felt safe and secure in their Vale strongholds. They had no idea of the danger that was about to befall them. This is a stand-alone sequel to my story "Druids Bane".
