(Warnings: angts, mental health)
Again.
It did it again.
Waking up in the hospital to the sound of beeping machines nurses quietly chatting, you're informed that you're the only survivor of the fire that burnt down your home. Your whole family being nothing left but ashes. But just you felt numb to it.
They'll tell you they're so sorry, tried their best to save them. Funeral where you'll be the only one attending. Standing alone in the rain with barely healed burns, trying to find purpose to your life again only to be put back to that horrible day. You've done it all before but no one ever seemed to notice.
Was this some kind of sick joke?
You were tired of reliving the worse day of your life.
Getting out of the hospital bed, you barely acknowledging the nurses as you removed the IV tubes from your arms and stepped out the building.
Barefoot and still wearing the hospital gown, you needed to get some fresh air. How could you be back here again? Were you going crazy? You were hyperventilating.
The nurses rushed outside after you, thinking the news of your family dying had make you not stable enough to be on your own.
You ran behind the hospital, up Mount Ebott. Everything was so wrong, you could feel it but could never pin point why. Frustration and tears threatened to spill over as you ran deep into the mountain.
Trembling with adrenaline, you found a cave to hide, the voices of the nurses calling your name fading away.
Catching your breath, your gaze finally tore away from the entrance and looked at your surroundings. Your footsteps echoed as you cautiously explore until you found a hole.
Everything seemed deathly silent as you looked down at the seemingly bottomless pit, feeling a strange pull towards it.
You weren't stupid, you knew jumping in would probably result in death.. but you were so tired.
A bittersweet smile pulled on your lips as you stared down like it was an old friend. Worst case scenario you'd wake up in the hospital again.. right?
