Ankou was once a noble god. A god that could create planets and galaxies at will. After everything, they fell and became known as the Reaper, God of Death, and many other names. What happened to this God? What befell them that made them turn out this way? Well, we only know from the story the gods told and an old grandfather telling his grandchildren, phrasing it in a way that seems fictional.

Essence... spirit... that which gives meaning to life. It isn't the soul which is necessary for life. Even when a mortal has a soul, without essence... the mortal becomes an empty shell existing for nothing. Our father, he created us pure and perfect. He doesn't want us to soil our bodies and so he never gave us body parts for procreation. When we rebelled against him because we wanted to have relationships with our own kind, he had no choice but to allow. But with his decision, we are no longer perfect... but we are still pure. Is it because we were jealous of his other creation that we wished to love and procreate? No that's not the only reason. Perfection can be achieve through completeness. Right now we are like mannequins. I thought that this was the only problem amongst our brethren. Then, some of us requested our father about experiencing rebirth so that they can change erase the accumulated memories from specific essences collected from mortals. The Rebirth System... the main reason for the first war where we fell apart and the second reason why this story exists...
