This poem was inspired by the death of James Carstairs in the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare. I am a huge fan of all of Cassie's novels, including the Mortal Instruments series. The death of a favorite character can affect not just the story, but the reader, and on a very personal level. I wrote this poem basically to sum up the entire fandom's pain concerning our poor Jem. I hope y'all enjoy!

The awesome cover done by @GalaxyPhann! Grace Carstairs is Jem's twin sister and she too has a terrible curse that the demon who killed her parents, Yanluo, gave her. She is haunted by those couple of days in the Shanghai institute and tortured by the after effects that even Jem can't help her with. As much as he tries, nothing will stop the horrible curse that tortures his sister. This is a story of how the Carstairs twins fight for their lives whilst holding onto the people they love and the lives they used to have.
