Desmond Flynn is a junior in high school with a secret. He's actually a popular online novelist under the pen name Decimus. One day he gets an email from BookNet, the largest online novel site, about a competition. One that puts him in the ring against other online novelists. Desmond however thinks he has the competition in the bag. After all, he is the best online novelist. That is until another writer under the name Valerius shows up. Not only is Desmond trying to win the writing competition he is also trying to survive high school. His best friend moved away leaving him with no one, until a transfer student named Bailey sits next to him in class.
