For centuries past, Monarch's of Hawthorne have fought tooth and nail to free their kingdom from the Greed, a dark and faceless species drenched in mystery and ancient evil magic; they've sacrificed their armies and their lives to the promise of hope and freedom for their people back home, who live out their days in poverty and fear.
One Monarch is determined to break the cycle and not only liberate the people of Hawthorne, but to rid all regions from the oppression of the soul-stealing Greed.
**This is a fanfiction of the Kingdom games. While the characters, dialogue, and many events in this fic are of my own creation, I won't take full credit for the overarching premise of this story.**

A man with a seriously messed up life and a load of mental problems made a lot of mistakes in his life but one stands above the rest. The story is about one man with a broken mind doing everything he can to try and make up for the wrong he did and find the woman he loves. This story is very intense and isn't for light reading. I think of the story like this: This isn't the story of a hero slaying a dragon and rescuing the princess. Nor is this a story about a hero who triumphs over evil and rescues the maiden in peril. This is the story of a man, who fights as much with himself, as he does the world around him. He is no hero, he is simply a man, trying to make the best he can of himself, and fix what he broke.
