For many reasons, we forget who we are and to whom we belong, and we lie weeping under immense pressure to be someone we simply are not. We endure loneliness and self-doubt until we look for our vertical relationship with the One who can truly pull us up out of the darkness. We may meet someone who facilitates the upward movement, but He is always the one with the power to restore our sense of self.
