She didn't come back to heal. Addison Brodie left Scotland running from grief that had already taken too much from her. After losing her parents, she built a life designed to keep distance between herself and anything that could hurt her again - travelling the world as an elite sports physiotherapist, working with some of the biggest names in rugby, learning how to fix everyone else while quietly avoiding the parts of herself that were still broken. But grief doesn't stay where you leave it. It follows you. So she returns to Edinburgh. Back to a city that feels the same and yet nothing like she remembers. To a city that remembers her, even when she wishes it wouldn't Back to everything she spent years trying not to feel. And back to everything she once buried, convinced distance would be enough to keep it there. Only this time, there's no more running. There's no easing into it this time. No clean slate. Just late nights, shared spaces, and a life lived too close to people who don't realise how easily everything can unravel. And then there's him. The one she shouldn't have noticed. The one she definitely shouldn't have started to trust. The one who makes it harder to remember why she ever built walls in the first place. Because trust, once broken, doesn't rebuild cleanly. It fractures. And when it finally breaks in front of her - quietly, casually, without warning - Addison is forced to realise she never really left her past behind at all. She just carried it into a different country and called it moving on. PS: I'm a rugby fan, and while the story is rooted in the sport and its world, some creative liberties have been taken with the squad and current line-up.

"I'd much rather have my head between her legs than yours." *** SEQUEL TO CONTRONYM Life is never kind to the broken. Then again, aren't we all broken? I've faced the sexists, the egotistics, the rapists, the catalysts; everyone is an asshole in their own right. Sadly, I'm maxing out on how much more hardship I can take. Griffin Riley used to be my enemy and the cause of my many headaches but now he seems to be my pain medication that takes the aches away. But nothing good can last forever. Maybe we'll be the exception. A girl can hope. But between the stress, high stakes, jealousy, fights, trials, the media, school, life changing scares, and most importantly; Lacrosse, our relationship will be put through the ringer. I just hope we aren't smushed to death.
