If we were to describe Severus Snape in one word, what would it be?

I think, for me, it would be: 'Misunderstood'.

He was misunderstood his whole life, wasn't he?
This story begins from his childhood, and goes on to describe what he went through in his life, and the emotional turmoil he faced at the hands of those he loved. Remember that I do not wish to portray him as a 'hero'. Because I think he would despise being called one.

But every villain, like they say, is just someone whose story has yet to be told.

Hence, this is what I'm doing.
