When Kya's father was killed in a fire nation attack in Ba Sing Se, she was left to fend for herself in the huge city. She was determined to get revenge for what the fire nation did to her family. Living in the poorer area of Ba Sing Se, she had to steal to get any food. All she had was herself, and her best friend Yuki, who was an earthbender. But when an oppourtunity to leave her home and get revenge on the people who killed her father is given, she is given a choice. Face the world, or be stuck with the guilt of her father's death forever.
This is a fanfiction based on the 2003-2007 series, Avatar the Last Airbender. This takes place before the Avatar returns near the end of the century war. I do not own any of the cover art, the show, etc. This story is based off of a self input OC in the avatar universe. Enjoy!

Thirteen years ago, I was born by my mother Mao and my father Shota. We lived in the Earth Kingdom peacefully, along with my my older brother for years. Until the night guards came to our house, demanding my father come with them. I was only five at the time, hiding behind my mother as the Fire Nation guards tried to take my father. I remember everything that happened that night. First there was shouting, voices ringing angrily through the house. Then came the fighting. The guards attempting to take him by force; my father fighting back. Mother grabbed me and my brother, taking us outside to avoid the flames being thrown around our home. I strained against her, desperate to get to father, who's screams could be heard from inside. My mother forced me to stay put as she ran back to the house to help father. Neither of them came back. My brother and I hid in the forest next to our house as the guards came out of the burning house. He told me to stay hidden while he went to check things out and I didn't move until the house collapsed. My brother never returned. Aang believes he has to save the world on his own, but he isn't alone, he has his Fire Angel at his side. The Avatar and Fire Angel are not only destined to be with each other but are destined to save the world together. Allies will become enemies and enemies will become allies. With in desperate need of a firebending teacher, Zuko throws away the need of capturing the Avatar and instead assists him in saving the world and teaching him firebending. The Avatar is gone. He was not there when the fire nation invaded the earth kingdom and he is not here now, when a small group of rebels hiding in ancient ruins does its best to survive. Lee is one of these rebels and leads a small team that ventures regularly into a city governed by the fire nation in order to steal food and daily necessities. However the fire nation soldiers are not his only enemy. Some of his own comrades despise him and do everything they can on order to turn his life into hell. Above all Lee hides a dark past he can not even tell his closest friend Roku because he fears that even he would turn against him if he knew the whole truth. Then it all changes when a new refugee reaches the ruins. Her name is Sora and she is an airbender. Even though she is still so very young she insists to join Lee's team and fight alongside them.
