Since young, it has been Asteria's, nickname Asta, dream to become the Wizard King. Only problem is she has no magic to speak of, unlike her childhood friend/rival Yuno, also aiming to become the Wizard King. At the annual Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony, she is disappointed when she doesn't receive a grimoire herself, while Yuno is gifted the legendary Four-Leaf Clover Grimoire, like the first Wizard King himself had. But despite that, she doesn't give up... 

Especially when Yuno is captured by a former magic knight aiming to take his special grimoire, but she will never allow that. At her lowest point, she rises back up and stands against all that tries to keep her down and not only receives her grimoire but she awakens a power, not magic, but much deeper than that. Look out four suit kingdoms, because here comes the Wildcard.
